MediaTek announced the Dimensity 9000+ 5G chipset for high-end smartphones.



The top-of-the-line 5G smartphone chipset from MediaTek was upgraded with the introduction of a new chipset on Tuesday called Dimensity 9000+.The new high-end product, according to the manufacturer, outperforms the Dimensity 9000 in terms of performance, making the next generation of flagship smartphones even more potent and effective.

Yenchi Lee, Deputy General Manager of MediaTek's Wireless Communications Business Unit, said in a statement that the Dimensity 9000+ "builds on the success of our first flagship 5G chipset, ensuring that device makers always have access to the most advanced high-performance features and the latest mobile technologies, making it possible for their top-tier smartphones to stand out."

The Dimensity 9000+ provides quicker gameplay, flawless streaming, and an improved user experience overall thanks to a range of top-tier AI, gaming, multimedia, image, and connection technologies, Lee said.

The new Dimensity 9000+ system-on-chip (SoC) combines a single ultra-Cortex-X2 core running at up to 3.2GHz (vs 3.05GHz with the Dimensity 9000) with three super Cortex-A710 cores and four efficiency Cortex-A510 cores in a 4nm octa-core process. Higher than 5% more CPU performance and more than 10% more GPU performance are offered by the new chipset's integrated Arm Mali-G710 MC10 graphics processor and improved CPU architecture.

In the third quarter of 2022, smartphones with the Dimensity 9000+ processor are anticipated to be available.
